Construction notice
Union Paving, the controlling company of Tracks Unlimited, has been approved to replace the railroad tracks crossing LeFante Way, east of the Bayonne Crossing Shopping Center.
The Police Department permit authorizes this work to take place at dates to be determined between Dec. 13 and 31. The start date is pending.
The work is expected to take up to three days to complete, sequentially, not on a weekend. The contractor is authorized to keep the roadway closed in both directions for the duration of the work.
Variable message signboards will be posted on Route 440, in both directions, to provide ample notification to tractor trailers making deliveries to LeFante Way, east of the closure, directing those vehicles to use Hook Road.
After final scheduling has been determined, the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management will make a robocall to the affected area, further advising the public of the work.
