At 2:26 a.m. on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, a motor vehicle struck the Secaucus Municipal Building located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road, according to the Secaucus Police Department.
During the investigation, the police arrested a 30 year old male, Hugo Brito of Jersey City. Brito was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Exhibiting a False Government Document, according to authorities. Brito was driving on Paterson Plank Road, turning on to County Avenue when he accidentally veered into Town Hall.
Brito was served his complaint summons along with his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated and an additional four motor vehicle summonses. Afterwards, he was released into the custody of a responsible adult, police said.
The hole left in the side of the building from the collision has since been boarded up with wooden planks.
