West New York restricts public access to Town Hall

The move follows a local surge in COVID-19 cases

With the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases, the town of West New York is urging residents to refrain from any unnecessary public interactions. Keeping that in mind, public access to Town Hall has been restricted until further notice, the town posted on its website at westnewyorknj.org.

The move reinstates the policy first put into effect at the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020. Eventually, restrictions eased and Town Hall slowly reopened to the public. However, that is no longer the case amid the Omicron variant surge.

Most town services are available online and by phone, according to the town. Municipal employees are continuing to work at their jobs and can respond to answer questions and concerns from the public via telephone and email. Frequently requested forms are available online at westnewyorknj.org/forms. Copies of the most commonly requested forms can also be picked up at the municipal chambers entrance to Town Hall, around the side of the building. Completed forms can be emailed back or deposited in the drop box by the chambers entrance.
