Dear Editor:
I never knew that Ward C Councilman Rich Boggiano was such a comedian.
Recently, the budget for Jersey City’s school district grew to $955 million. According to another local publication, Rich Boggiano believes that the schools should be funded at the highest level. He then continued “. . . you have to consider the homeowners here in Jersey City. They just can’t afford it. . .”
I guess the joke is on us. Councilman Boggiano had no qualms about voting in favor of giving members of the council a 29 percent pay hike. I wonder, did Councilman Boggiano and five of his avaricious colleagues think about the homeowners or, for that matter, the constituents when they voted themselves a big, fat pay increase? Somehow, I kind of doubt it very much.
Indeed, Councilman Boggiano is a comedian. However, having said that, something is terribly amiss. If Rich Boggiano is so funny, then why arre he and his five greedy colleagues on the council who voted in favor of the pay hike the only ones laughing. . . . All the way to the bank?
