Wellness Group open on LeFante Way

Elected officials joined healthcare professionals for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Wellness Group of Bayonne. Located previously on Broadway, the Wellness Group is located now at 116-120 LeFante Way at South Cove Commons Mall.

The group includes: four chiropractors, Dr. Maris Stella Fraga, Dr. Michael Acanfora, Dr. Charles Gonzales, and Dr. Noah DeKoyer; two acupuncturists, Cathey Baier and Teresa Knott; one physical therapist, Dr. Fnu Kamakshi; and one medical doctor, Dr. Gary Sen.

‘Lost Landmarks of Bayonne’ exhibit at library

The Bayonne Public Library and the Bayonne Historical Society are co-sponsoring an exhibit called “Lost Landmarks of Bayonne” in the O’Connor Gallery of the Bayonne Public Library at 31st Street and Avenue C, which will run until the end of the month in the gallery on the second floor of the library.

The exhibit will consist of approximately forty paintings by Bayonne
artist Andrew Walsh and ten poems by his late sister Mary Walsh. Bayonne shop owner Kathleen Hurley, another member of the same family, will perform the poems at the opening.

Members of the Bayonne Historical Society will act as tour guides, virtually taking people on a tour of 19th Century landmarks of the little villages that combined to form Bayonne: Bergen Point, Constable Hook, Centerville, and Salterville or Pamrapo.

‘Mystery at the Library’ on April 27

The Bayonne Public Library has announce the Mystery Book Club’s April Book.The public is invited to read “In My Dreams I Hold A Knife” by Ashley Winstead.

After reading, they can register and participate in a live virtual book club “Mystery at the Library” event on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. featuring Winstead.

Job fair at Bayonne High School

The Bayonne Board of Education is partnering with Hudson County One-Stop Career Center and hosting a Career and Job Expo. The event will be held at the Bayonne High School Korpi Ice Rink Gym on Wednesday, April 27 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The goal is to afford Bayonne High School students and community members an opportunity to network and explore job opportunities that may be available to them. Students may also be recruited to assist with seasonal positions. Over fifty vendors will be available and walk-ins are encouraged.

Bayonne celebrates National Library Week

Sponsored annually by the American Library Association (ALA), National Library Week from April 3 to 6 provides an opportunity to celebrate our nation’s libraries. This year’s theme promotes the idea that libraries are places where people can get connected to technology, media, ideas, and classes, in addition to books.
