Officials are investigating a blaze in North Bergen on April 20 that tore through seven buses belonging to NJ Transit, according to a statement from the agency.

The fire occurred at a bus storage facility on Tonnelle Avenue and 18th Street at approximately 4:30 p.m.

North Bergen Police Department and North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.

There were no reported injuries nor threats to any structure, police said.

NJ Transit Spokesman Jim Smith said that the NJ Transit Police and other local agencies are probing the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation.

The seven buses involved were unoccupied at the time and were decommissioned. According to Smith, the buses were no longer in revenue service and in storage at the time.
