The Waterton, a new luxury rental apartment community in Secaucus at 1631 Paterson Plank Road, saw its official opening celebrated by the entities behind it including Woodmont Properties, Canoe Book Development and PIRHL on May 12.
“Secaucus continues to be a desirable place to live and we are excited to officially welcome The Waterton to our dynamic town, which truly has so much to offer,” said Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli. “Woodmont Properties, Canoe Brook Development and PIRHL delivered on their promise for an incredible property that will serve our community for many years to come.”
The residential complex was built on a site previously occupied by a cement company that closed years ago and was an “eyesore,” according to Gonnelli. The new community features 116 units including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, as wall as a number of amenities, and easy access to public transit.
Apartments at The Waterton feature wood-style flooring; 11-foot ceilings; floor-to-ceiling windows; modern kitchens with quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances, and islands; bathrooms and storage; balconies and terraces in select units; walk-in closets with custom shelving; full-size washer and dryer; and the “ButterflyMX” smartphone video intercom system. Many of the first-floor residences also feature self-contained rear yards intended for families with children and pets.
“The Waterton gives residents the best of both worlds – the calm of the suburbs with its location on a charming, private cul-de-sac, coupled with easy access to the City and downtown Secaucus’ vibrant restaurants, retail, and entertainment,” said Lara Schwager, senior vice president of development at PIRHL. “We’d like to thank Mayor Gonnelli and all of the Secaucus township officials who shared in our vision to bring a unique modern living experience to the waterfront.”
Residents of The Waterton have access to a sundeck with Hackensack River views; outdoor lounge area with a barbecue, dining areas, and fire pits; outdoor screening area; entertainment lounge with billiards and a bar; private offices and conference rooms; a co-working lounge with a coffee bar; fitness center with private yoga studio equipped with FitnessOnDemand; children’s playroom; and a nearby public playground. The property also offers covered garage parking with electric vehicle charging stations; a resident social engagement calendar; valet dry cleaning services; free Wi-Fi in amenity spaces; 24/7 on-site maintenance; and Luxer package acceptance.
Located directly across the river from American Dream, The Waterton is situated on a quiet residential cul-de-sac. The property is also walking distance to downtown Secaucus and the town’s retail and restaurants.
“We pulled out all of the stops for this stunning boutique luxury community and we’re thrilled to officially unveil it to the Secaucus community,” said Jack Tycher, partner at Canoe Brook Development. “Residents of The Waterton will have access to some of the best indoor and outdoor amenities with breathtaking views, along with convenient access to New York City.”
A testament to the market demand for luxury housing, The Waterton is more than 50 percent leased in two months. For additional information about The Waterton, go online to
