Bayonne Hometown Fair set to return on June 4

The event marks yet another festival making a comeback in the wake of COVID-19

The 2022 Bayonne Hometown Fair will take place on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, Mayor James Davis has announced. This will be the sixth fair in its current format, with The Hometown Fair Association being the organizer of the event.

The event did not take place in 2020 or 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the state of the virus in the city remains stable enough for events such as this and the Bayonne Food Truck Festival to make a big comeback in 2022 for the first time since 2019.

On Saturday, the fair’s hours will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Sunday, the fair’s hours will be from 12 to 5 p.m. The fair will be located along Broadway, from 21st Street to 26th Street.

“We are happy to welcome back the Bayonne Hometown Fair after a two-year hiatus,” Davis said. “Local organizations, businesses, entertainers, and volunteers are working to make sure that this year’s fair is a great event. We can all look forward to the 2022 Hometown Fair.”

Food, rides, entertainment, and more

The 2022 fair will feature food, games, rides, vendors, and musical entertainment. Amusements will include will include a mechanical rides between 25th and 26th Streets, and inflatable rides between 21st and 22nd Streets.

There will be a charge for the mechanical rides. The inflatable rides will be free, and will be sponsored by the Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ).

The main stage for the fair will be set up on West 23rd Street by DelMonte Drive. A second performance space, the community stage, will be set up on the east side of Broadway between 22nd and 23rd Streets. A variety of musicians and other entertainers will perform at both stages.

Vendors and organizations will take part in the fair, with tables along Broadway from 22nd Street to 25th Street. The tables will feature food, merchandise, information about community organizations, and give-aways of various promotional items.

The Hometown Fair Association thank the fair’s numerous sponsors for their support. The generosity of the sponsors makes the fair possible.
