The North Bergen flea market and collectible fair returned to Bergenline Avenue on Saturday, June 4. And it was massive.

The monthly market first kicked off the season to much success on May 7. Since its launch in 2018, the flea market has been a month-to-month staple in the township.

This month, the market saw even more many people come out to take advantage of the expanded vendors as well as their available deals and purchasable wares. Tables lined the avenue for almost the entire length of Braddock Park, sometimes in two rows.

Everything under the warm summer sun was available for sale. An array of vendors sold a myriad of items, from clothing to kitchen accessories, jewelry to tools, music and movies, games and antiques, and much more, all for a bargain price.

The flea market takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month. Following the market’s success, the township has expanded the dates to now include the third Saturday of each month as well. Members of the public can mark their calendars for the next one on June 18.

Colorful bags for sale covered one vendor’s table.

Following that, the market will return on July 2, July 16, August 6, August 20, September 3, September 17, October 1, October 15, November 5, November 19, December 3, and December 17.

All types of clothing was on sale at a number of stalls.

This event is hosted by the North Bergen Community Policing. According to the township, proceeds are donated to the Special Olympics.

From toys to antiques, handmade trinkets were one offering at the flea market.

Farmers market set to return

Meanwhile, the Braddock Park Farmers Market is set to return on June 23. The market will take place every Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Farmers Market has many fresh food offerings starting in late June.

The market is located at the Veterans Memorial in the park at 90th Street and Bergenline Avenue. The weekly offering is sponsored by the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation and Anthony Vainieri.

Each week, different vendors and even food trucks make appearances.

The farmers market will return again in June on the 30th at the same time in the same location, as well as on July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18, and August 25.
