This summer outdoor concerts return to the spectacular setting of Lincoln Harbor Park on the Weehawken waterfront beginning with The C4 Trio, one of the most innovative and original musical groups on the Venezuelan and Latin American music scene.
Founded in 2005 by cuatro virtuosos Jorge Glem, Edward Ramirez, and Hector Molina, the group has achieved a unique sound, rooted in Venezuelan popular music but with strong touches of jazz, Latin music, world music, and pop. The later addition of bass player Rodner Padilla has added depth to the group’s unique sound and has expanded the group’s repertoire.
They have shared stages and developed musical collaborations with a diverse group of renowned artists including Carlos Vives, Soledad Bravo, Marta Gómez, Oscar D’ León, Guaco, Serenata Guayanesa, Desorden Público, Luis Enrique, Anat Cohen, El Cuarteto, Puerto Candelaria, Eddy Marcano, Aquiles Báez, Alexis Cárdenas, Servando Primera, Francisco Pacheco, Betsayda Machado, Marcial Istúriz, Cheo Hurtado, and Rubén Blades, among many others.
They have recorded several records, CD’s and DVd’s with the participation of an important group of top artists. Their album “Gualberto+C4” (2012), made in collaboration with the famous Venezuelan singer Gualberto Ibarreto, was nominated for a 2013 Latin Grammy for Best Folk Music Album. In 2014 their album “De Repente” (2013), made together with the Venezuelan singer Rafael “Pollo” Brito, won a Latin Grammy.
The album “Pa Fuera” (2017) made together with the Venezuelan Ska band Desorden Público received a nomination at the 60th Grammy Award 2018 as Best Latin, Rock and Alternative Album. In 2019 their CD, “Tiempo al tiempo” , made together with the Nicaraguan singer Luis Enrique, obtained a Latin Grammy for Best Folk Music Album and Best Arrangement for the song “Sirena”, as well as a nomination for Best Tropical Latin Album at the 62nd Grammy Award in 2020.
Since its founding, the C4 Trio has maintained an intense schedule of concerts on important stages in America and Europe, always displaying the versatility and universality of the Venezuelan Cuatro. Special guest on this concert will be vocalist Nathasha Bravo.
The next concert on July 13 will feature Grammy nominated and Blues Music Award winner, Danielle Nicole. All concerts take place at Lincoln Harbor Park, located just north of the Chart House restaurant, directly on the west bank of the Hudson River in Weehawken, New Jersey. The concert is weather permitting
Public transportation options include NJ Transit bus #158, the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, and NY Waterway Ferry to Lincoln Harbor. And for those who choose to drive, limited free parking is available.
The Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center, Inc. (HRPAC), a New Jersey Not-For-Profit, presents this summer long series of open-air concerts free of charge to the general public. Concerts are family friendly. Audience members are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket and picnicking is permitted on the lawn.
