New Jersey City University declared safe after bomb threat
New Jersey City University was judged safe to return to normal after students and personnel were ordered to evacuate by police on July 8, according to police and university officials.
Police had responded to a call sent to an outside police department reporting a suspicious package on campus. Police cleared the campus and determined that the call was unfounded. An investigation into the initial call is ongoing.

Man charged with multiple sex crimes at Union City pool
On Sunday, July 3, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Ashokbhai Vaddoriya, a 40-year-old of Jersey City, on charges relating to sex crimes on four individuals at a public pool in Union City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced.

Hoboken expands vehicle charging availability
The city of Hoboken announced the activation of six new level 2 dual port charging stations in the city, as well as the launch of their new six month Green Pass pilot program for electric vehicle charging.
The Green Pass pilot program will allow residents to park their registered electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid at a reduced rate while charging a vehicle at Garage B, Garage D and the Midterm Garage at $6 for up to eight hours of parking.
To become a Green Pass member, the individual must have a valid Hoboken Resident On-Street Parking Permit and have a registered electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. To register, visit www.hobokennj.gov/evcharging.

Kennedy Dancers announces free summer performances
The Kennedy Dancers in Jersey City have announced their summer performance series for this year. The shows feature choreography by artistic director Diane Dragone and Sean Curran, Director of Dance at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Hoboken man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting students while teacher

U.S. Customs busts Union City man with cocaine in wheelchair
A Hudson County man gambled on being a high roller, but his attempt was just a bad bet. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers called his bluff and discovered more than 30 pounds of cocaine concealed inside his electric wheelchair at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshal Airport on June 20.
