I am an ambassador for The Borgen Project. Stopping world hunger and malnutrition, especially among women and children, is crucial for bringing about long-lasting change on a global scale. For malnutrition to be eradicated in all its manifestations, improving women’s nutrition is essential. Offering children access to nutrition services and programs enables them to participate in their communities and develop into productive members of society.
An estimated $35 in economic return may be obtained for every $1 spent on global nutrition. I am writing to urge you to support the Global Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment Act. Moreover, reducing poverty across the world also boosts the economy and increases job opportunities in the United States. If passed, the Global Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment Act grants USAID the authority to sustain multi-sectoral nutrition programs and promote programs to prevent and cure malnutrition across the world. Your support would save millions of people in poverty-stricken areas.
