West New York is calling all local artists

The town is looking for help painting electrical boxes

Mayor Rodriguez and artist Danay Vigoa ask for more help in front of the electrical box she painted.

West New York is looking to add a little more art to the town.

Mayor Gabriel Rodriguez and the Board of Commissioners are calling out for all local artists to help with community improvement projects. Currently, the town is specifically asking for artists to help paint the electrical boxes, according to Rodriguez.

“I want to invite any local artist to come and help us make West New York look better,” Rodriguez said. “If you would like to contribute by putting a piece of your artwork on one of the electrical boxes in West New York, please reach out to the Mayor’s Office.”

Rodriguez expressed his gratitude to local artists, such as Danay Vigoa, who are already working on projects in town.

“We are thankful and grateful that artists like these are coming to us to express themselves and make West New York beautiful,” Rodriguez said. “Thank you West New York artists. Thank you Danay.”

Artists interested can reach out to the Mayor’s Office at 201-295-5100 to participate in the project. For more information, go to westnewyorknj.org or check official township social media accounts.
