North Bergen library offers amnesty for late book returns

The event is open to North Bergen and Guttenberg residents only

In honor of library card sign-up month, the North Bergen Free Public Library is holding an amnesty event for local residents.

Return all overdue items between September 1 and 30 at any library location and the fines will be forgiven. This only applies to items owned by the North Bergen library.

Overdue fines will be forgiven for North Bergen and Guttenberg residents. Amnesty does not apply to lost or damaged items.

The main library is located at 8411 Bergenline Avenue and the Kennedy Branch is at 2123 Kennedy Boulevard. The Guttenberg Resource Center is downstairs in the Galaxy Towers Mall at 7002 Boulevard East in Guttenberg.

Register for fall programming 

On top of that, the North Bergen Free Public Library has announced its fall programming for adults. This year, the library is hosting a full schedule of virtual and in-person events and activities.

Sign up for English classes, Zumba, yoga, meditation, art, crafts, computers, citizenship classes, and more. Registration begins September 6.

The programs, for North Bergen and Guttenberg residents only, start on September 12 and will run to November 19. Register at or click on the link below for a full schedule and information on individual activities.
