A North Bergen man has been arrested on drug charges after allegedly selling Oxycodone to an undercover police detective, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced on September 9.
Christopher Novembre, a 44-year from North Bergen, was charged with third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically oxycodone; and third-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, specifically oxycodone. Novembre was released on a summons pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the East Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief Dennis M. Rivelli and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Marc Marano. On September 8, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, Cliffside Park Police Department and Bergen County Regional SWAT Team arrested Novembre.
Law enforcement arrested Novembre as he was parked in his vehicle in Cliffside Park. According to authorities, he was allegedly in possession of oxycodone pills he intended to sell. On another occasion, Novembre allegedly sold oxycodone to an undercover detective in East Rutherford, police said.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He also thanked the East Rutherford Police Department, Cliffside Park Police Department and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team for their assistance in this investigation.
