Get your running gear and sneakers ready for next spring, as sign-ups are open for the first-ever Jersey City Marathon, taking place on April 23, 2023.

The event, hosted by the Jersey City Road Runners, will feature a full and half-marathon winding through a number of the city’s neighborhoods, and will be a USA Track & Field sanctioned event.

The race will begin at the Newport Green area in the northeast part of Downtown, and will travel down the waterfront and the Powerhouse Arts District. It will then continue through Liberty State Park, and then Greenville, Bergen-Lafayette and Communipaw as it loops back to Newport Green.

The half-marathon will complete after the first loop, while the full-marathon will do a second loop in a similar course but in reverse. The event will also have a pre-race expo, refreshments, entertainment and finish line festivities.

Registration is currently open, with entry costing $100 and $6.75 for the sign-up fee. Those prices will increase as the day of the event gets closer.
