West New York will hold a Wiffle Ball Fundraiser this month to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, Mayor Gabriel Rodriguez, Commissioner Margarita Guzman, and the Board of Commissioners have announced.
The ball game will take place on Saturday, October 22 at Miller Stadium at 5808 Jackson Street. The first pitch will be thrown at 9 a.m.
Those interested in participating can register with Cultural Affairs at 201-295-5270 or Ruben Rivera at 551-261-1233. Participants are asked to register no later than Thursday, October 14.
The registration fee is $20 per person. For group sponsors, up to 10 players, the fee is $200.
One t-shirt per player is included. A hat is an additional charge.
The event comes after West New York officials helped “Paint the Town Pink!” The annual event was held in front of Town Hall on Monday, October 3.
On that day, officials and residents tied pink ribbons outside of City Hall, selling baked goods and associated merchandise inside. The festivities aim to raise awareness to Breast Cancer.
