With the holiday season underway, the city of Hoboken will start offering free parking for about four hours. The catch is, drivers need to show a purchase of at least $20 at Hoboken shopping or dining establishments.
“Hoboken stands ready to support our business community by making it easier to shop this holiday season,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “We are pleased to once again offer free and discounted parking to customers who patronize our small businesses, as they run errands, meet friends for dinner or find that perfect gift. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this service and shop locally!”
The city will be offering free parking in the following municipal garages for up to four hours per day on weekends through January 2, 2023 as cited on their Instagram page.
- Garage B (28 2nd St.)
- Garage D (215 Hudson St.)
- Midtown (371 4th St.)
In an effort to encourage residents to support small local businesses in the city, the Hoboken Business Alliance has created a program called the “Hoboken Holiday Passport,” incentivizing residents to shop in these upcoming holidays.
“The Hoboken Holiday Passport is the first of its kind, highlighting 36 small businesses throughout the city where shoppers can find the perfect gift for everyone on their holiday list,” said Roxanne Early, who is the director of the Hoboken Business Alliance.
She said residents can pick them up at the following businesses partnering with the program:
In addition to this, the city will also be giving out discounted prices for metered on-street parking. Drivers must use the promo code “PARKHOB” using the ParkMobile app to receive 50 percent off parking sessions in select zones through the end of the year.
