This week, the City of Hoboken alongside the city’s Business Alliance group will light up the annual Christmas Tree this Thursday, Dec. 8, at around 4:15 p.m.
The event will take place at 11th and Washington streets.
“The Hoboken Business Alliance is proud to sponsor the Hoboken holiday tree and decorations on 11th street, and we look forward to celebrating this joyous season with the whole city,” said Roxanne Earley, the executive director of the Hoboken Business Alliance.
“Please join us to share in some hot cocoa, caroling, and don’t forget to bring your Holiday Passport so you can shop, dine and play this Thursday.”
A few performances will also be featured that day such as Elvis the Elf, live performances by Hoboken Cheer Dynamics, Studio L Hoboken Dancers, the Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, Hoboken High School Chorus, Hoboken High School Flute Ensemble, Brandt School Chorus, Connors School Chorus, Wallace School Chorus and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus as reported by the Patch.
“The Hoboken Christmas Tree Lighting is a great way to gather with friends, family and neighbors and celebrate the holiday,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “Thank you to the Hoboken Business Alliance for collaborating with us on this special occasion.”
Due to the event, 11th Street between Bloomfield Street and Washington Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, and temporary no parking signs will be posted.
