Professor John Bredin (Rutgers, Montclair State) will present a talk on the role of imagination in society. How do the novels we read, and the films we watch, impact on the health of our democracy? It’s a provocative question rarely addressed by our media or politicians. Though it is a theme of great interest to Bredin, who hosts a weekly TV show on culture and ideas, and whose family played a key role in the creation of Hollywood. Though a donation of 10 dollars is suggested, “scholarships” are available and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Light refreshments.
