The Youth Orchestras of Essex County is gearing up for its 69th annual Winter Concert, an event that promises to be a celebration of music, talent, and community spirit. On Sunday, December 15, the stage will be filled with young musicians from all over Essex County, showcasing their skills in a performance that includes all five of the organization’s ensembles.
The concert will feature a variety of musical pieces performed by different age groups and skill levels, ranging from elementary school strings to advanced high school strings. This year’s performance includes:
– The Overture Ensemble (elementary school strings)
– The Junior Symphony (middle and junior high school strings)
– The Essex County Symphony Orchestra (high school advanced strings)
– The Essex Wind Ensemble
– The ABC! Ensemble (jazz and world music)
A highlight of the program will be a special performance of Vivaldi’s “Winter” in its entirety, along with works by composers from across the globe. The concert offers a rare opportunity to see a diverse mix of genres, from classical to jazz, all performed by talented youth.
The concert will be held at Prospect Presbyterian Church, located at 646 Prospect Street in Maplewood, New Jersey. The church’s intimate setting will offer the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of live music.
