Looking to lockdown the top spot in the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Sr. Division “Championship Tournament”, the (5-0) Comets needed just one more victory as they took to the court taking on the (0-5) Sonics. Roaring into action, the Comets quickly built a 3-0 advantage as Sebastian Posluszny (1 goal, 1 assist), Damian Posluszny (2 goals, 1 assist), and Jacob Kowal (1 assist) ruled the first five minutes of play. Facing a thumping, the Sonics got on the board as Drew Radil assisted Jaiden Garcia on his eighth goal of the season making it 3-1, Comets. Trying to claw back into the fray, the Sonics bulked up on defense with Nicholas DiPinto, Mariam Rasslan, Kailey Delauter, and Sebastian Echeverry racing to fend off the potent Comets’ offense. Slowed for a few minutes the Comets once again took flight fueled by four straight goals by Kyle O’Hara with Sebastian Posluszny (3 assists) and Joyce Gabreal (1 assist) lending a hand. Well in control at 7-1, the Comets’ conquest rolled on as strong defensive efforts by Kasper Hooks and Khaled Rasslan helped launch another offensive surge by the Comets leading to goals by the Posluszny brothers Damian (2 goals) and Sebastian (1 goal) to seal an impressive 10-1 victory.
