A funeral mass was offered Dec. 11 at St. Ann’s Church, Hoboken, for Prior H. “Skeets” Schlendorf, 71, of Lincoln Park, formerly of Hoboken. He passed away Dec. 6 at his residence. Born in Jersey City, he was raised and lived most of his life in Hoboken, before moving to Lincoln Park. He was a truck mechanic under Teamsters Local 560 working for Navajo and Trans Con Freight Lines, retiring in 1990. He then worked for the N.J. Division of Motor Vehicle Services, retiring in 2008.

An avid animal lover, he rescued, cared for and loved all animals. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Barbara and son, Prior Schlendorf, Jr. He was the husband of Barbara; father of Barbara Schaffer and her husband Kurt, and grandfather of Lauren and Kaylee Schaffer. He is also survived by his mother in law Theresa Durand. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
