Dear Editor:

As a relative of one of the 75 police officers, firefighters and emergency personnel from Hudson County who were the first to respond to the Jan. 15th plane crash into the Hudson River, I want to express my gratitude to the heroes who, risking their lives, went into the frozen waters of the river and to WNY Mayor Sal Vega for the ceremony and Certificate of Appreciation given to the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, WNY Police Dept. and the WNY EMS for their participation in the heroic action of that day.

At the same token, I would like to express my disappointment to NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg who was too busy to cross the Holland or Lincoln Tunnels and participate in this ceremony. However, a couple of weeks ago he had time to fly to Israel to show his support to the actions taken by the armed forces of that country against the Hamas terrorists.

Sincerely,

Jose Aedo
