Settlement came after negotiations

Dear Editor:

I read in the Sunday, August 5th Hoboken Reporter an article about slashing overtime written by your staff writer Tom Jennemann. The article makes specific reference to my name.

Tom is a good journalist, but should get the facts straight before making a factual statement. Tom, I do not believe we have met, nor do I know you personally. However, I would like to set the record straight once and for all.

I received a check in the amount of $16,000 which is a legal settlement of eight (8) years of accumulated overtime. The negotiations with the union attorney and the City lasted about two (2) years. Only recently did my attorney and the City settle this claim. Tom has never mentioned this important fact.

A good journalist would play the story up nicely by making mention of the fact that yes, I am the brother-in-law of Mayor Anthony Russo, and I am proud of that fact.

A good journalist does an adequate job of research.
