The baseball fields in Braddock Park, on Riverview Drive near Boulevard East, are having their natural grass removed, and reliable information says that it will be replaced by synthetic grass, it will be fenced and locked to the general public, usable by PERMIT only.
This means there are NO MORE PLAYING FIELDS for the general public to use in Braddock Park for softball/baseball, football or soccer.
This is an insult to the general public, especially to the Hispanic population.
There is no reason why the natural grass couldn’t have been left there.
If it had been better taken care of and reseeded properly each year it would not have turned into dusty areas.
This is even more reason why THIS TUESDAY, ALL HUDSON COUNTY RESIDENTS SHOULD SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE DESTRUCTION OF NATURAL AREAS IN BRADDOCK PARK, AND THE SHRINKING OF PARK LAND, BY DEVELOPMENT – SAY NO TO THE PRESCHOOL IN BRADDOCK PARK!!
