Vaccines come to Hudson County
Hudson County received 20,850 doses of the Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines last week.
They will be distributed from the county site and locations in Jersey City, North Hudson, Kearny, Bayonne, and Hoboken.

New Jersey City vaccination site opens
Jersey City opened its sixth vaccination site at 100 Marin Blvd. near the light rail station.
The five other sites are the Mary McLeod Bethune Community Center at 140 MLK Drive, the Maureen Collier Senior Center at 335 Bergen Ave., the Joseph Connors Senior Center at 28 Paterson St, PS #26 at 164 Laidlaw Ave., and Ferris High School at 35 Colgate St.

Hoboken honors Transgender community
Mayor Ravi Bhalla, the Hudson Pride Center, the HPD, and community members raised the Transgender Pride Flag above City Hall to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility.
Hoboken was one of three New Jersey municipalities and one of 94 cities to earn the perfect rating from HRC.

North Bergen BOE attorney dies
North Bergen Board of Education Attorney and former Hudson County Surrogate Joseph Ryglicki recently lost a long battle with cancer, according to Mayor Nicholas Sacco.
“Joe was a consummate public servant who played a major role in the growth of our school district,” Sacco said. “He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.”
Jersey City boy,16, fatally shot
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of Kaheem Taylor, 16, who was fatally shot on March 29 in a building on Bergen Ave. near Dwight St. in Jersey City.

There will be a free Hudson County Improvement Authority shredding event on April 10, in the Field Parking Lot of Jose Marti School, 1812 Summit Ave. in Union City, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
Residents must remain in their vehicles and place their materials in their trunks.
Mall shooter headed for the slammer
On March 29, Ahmad Broadway, 26, of Jersey City, was sentenced to six years on charges related to his involvement in the January 11, 2019, shooting in the Newport Centre Mall.
In February, Broadway pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and one count of fourth-degree Risking Widespread Injury or Damage.
Feds aid health centers receive aid
New Jersey’s 24 Community Health Centers have been awarded a combined $129.65 million from the American Rescue Plan.
Three are in Hudson County: Horizon Health Center Inc and Metropolitan Family Health Network Inc in Jersey City and North Hudson Community Action Corp. in Union City.
Jersey City man allegedly sexually assaults teen
Robert Harper, 54, has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault of a boy, 14.
The charges are merely accusations. Harper is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
