GEORGE ROBERT PALERMO

A Funeral Mass was offered April 20 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Hoboken for George Robert Palermo, 92. He passed away peacefully on April 16th. A lifelong Hoboken resident, George graduated from Demarest High School in 1945, also winning the County Championship as baseball team captain and being named to All-County and All State teams. George proudly served in the Army in the Korean War, earning the Combat Infantry badge and a Bronze Star. After his service, George became a business owner running The Chatterbox and Sullivan’s Tavern. George was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (nee DeMarco) and his daughter, Maria Quaglieri. George is survived by his wife Theodora, his children including, Cora Jines (Sean) and George Palermo, his son-in-law, Joseph Quaglieri, his siblings including Joseph (Philamena), Irene (William Hennelly), and Helene Mastrogiovanni, as well as his grandchildren, Alex Gottlieb, Maddy Connolly (Ryan), Edward Siedlick, and George Palermo III.
