Temple to resume in-person services for holiday

Temple Beth Am, a Reform synagogue, is about to resume in-person religious services amid the upcoming High Holy days. Rabbi Cathy Felix is the spiritual leader of the Temple at 111 Avenue B.

There is no charge for services. Masks will be required, and social distancing will be in place.

A service will be held on Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. A service will be held on Kol Nidre, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. A service will be held on Yom Kippur followed by Yizkor service on Sept. 16, at 10:30 a.m.

Regular Saturday Shabbat services will resume on Sept. 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Fall robotics program

The Division of Recreation will team up with Minds in Motion for a robotics program for ages 7 to 11.

The event will be held on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bayonne Community Museum on Broadway. Participants will build their own “CyberCrawler Robot” with the aid of an instructor.

COVID-19 relief funds committee seeks resident input

In June, the city council formed a committee to oversee the spending of the $39 million of American Rescue Plan (ARP) money Bayonne is receiving.

According to City Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski, the committee is required to get community input before spending the ARP funds, so residents are asked to complete a survey
