Holiday Lights Contest
Show off your holiday spirit by entering the Secaucus Holiday Lights Contest, which runs from December 13 to December 23, 2024.
The Mayor and Town Council invite all residents to showcase their creativity and compete for prizes in three categories:
- Martha Stewart: For the most elegant and beautifully designed display.
- Clark Griswold: For the brightest and boldest decorations.
- Best Block: An award for neighborhoods that come together to create stunning street-wide displays.
The winners of the Holiday Lights Contest will be announced at the January Council Meeting.
Winning homes will be recognized with lawn signs sponsored by Impressive Printing.
Thus, this is a chance to make your home shine with beautiful lights, festive decorations, and creative holiday themes that bring joy to the entire town!
Parking and Travel Updates
To make holiday travel easier, Secaucus has made adjustments to parking rules:
- Metered Parking Suspended: All metered parking is free throughout December.
- Alternate Side Street Parking Suspended: Starting December 16, 2024, alternate side parking rules will be suspended until March 2025.
Winter Wonderland at Secaucus Library
On December 19, 2024, the Secaucus Public Library will host a magical Winter Wonderland event to celebrate the holiday season.
This family-friendly event is filled with festive activities for children and adults.
Details:
- Location: Secaucus Public Library, 2nd Floor Panasonic Room.
- Time: Two-time slots are available at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
- Activities:
- Santa Claus Storytime
- Selfies with Santa
- Gingerbread House Decorating
The event is open to children aged 4 and up and adults wanting to join the festive fun.
Registration is required, and space is limited, so be sure to sign up early at secaucuslibrary.org.

New Year’s Eve Craft for Kids
Ring in the new year with creativity at the New Year’s Eve Craft for Kids event on December 30, 2024.
It’s an event that offers a chance for young ones to make their own festive crafts.
Details:
- Location: Secaucus Public Library Annex, 1007 Riverside Station Blvd, Children’s Room.
- Time: 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Cost: Free.
But keep in mind that this event is exclusively for children aged 4 to 8 years old.
Registration is required using the child’s name; only those within the specified age range will be allowed to attend.
