Hudson County, New Jersey, continues to draw interest from members of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, who have often chosen the Gold Coast over New York City itself. On Saturday, September 7, Gia Giudice, who was just eight years old when the show launched in May 2009, began her own apartment search in Hoboken and Jersey City.
Now featured on Next Gen NYC, Gia took to TikTok and Instagram to document her apartment search, confirming that she visited several properties in both Hoboken and Jersey City. She was joined by her longtime boyfriend, Christian Carmichael, as they toured different rental options.
The decision to look in Hudson County followed in the footsteps of other cast members. Albie and Chris Manzo, for example, previously lived in Hoboken at 333 River Street.
- Gia Giudice began her Hudson County apartment search in September with longtime boyfriend Christian Carmichael, visiting multiple buildings in Hoboken and Jersey City.
- She viewed multiple units, including a two-bedroom with walk-in closets and a one-bedroom with a den, while focusing on layouts, amenities, and views of New York City.
- Her move is motivated by the demands of her growing career, frequent commutes into Manhattan, and her goal of living independently from her family’s Montville home.
Touring Spacious Units and High-Rise Options
The first property Gia walked through was a modern two-bedroom, two-bathroom high-rise unit. The space included wood flooring, exposed piping, floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in closets, and its own washer and dryer. She praised how open and roomy the layout was, though the apartment did not provide as much of a New York City view as she wanted.

Next on the list was a one-bedroom, one-bathroom residence with a den. Even though it sounded small, she was impressed by its size, and the den was nearly as large as another bedroom. Her only concern was the absence of floor-to-ceiling windows. She mentioned that another unit in the same building, scheduled to become available the following weekend, would feature both a den and those windows, and she intended to view it.
In a separate building, Gia and Christian also checked out a studio and another two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. She described the amenities there as extraordinary, saying the environment felt comparable to staying in a hotel. Gia stated she was pleased with the choices she had seen so far, but was waiting for additional apartments to open up before reaching a final decision.
Why Gia Giudice Is Moving Out of Montville
Earlier in the year, Gia shared her intent to leave her mother, Teresa Giudice’s Montville mansion, because of the difficulty of traveling to New York City. The drive from Montville into Manhattan takes about an hour, and her schedule had become increasingly demanding as her work grew.
In June, she revealed her goal of starting the apartment search in August and moving in by the end of September. By early September, she had followed through on that plan. She said her responsibilities multiplied during the production of Next Gen NYC, with her professional life and brand quickly expanding. During that time, she was traveling to Manhattan at least four days a week, which made the long commute impractical.
Although moving directly to New York City was an option, she leaned toward Jersey City, as it kept her closer to her family home. She added that she still expected to spend some weekends in Montville, partly to be with her dog, Bella.
