Investigators in Hudson County are asking the public for information that could lead to the arrest of a North Bergen man charged in a fatal shooting in Union City.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is searching for Luis Marin, 57, of North Bergen, who prosecutors say is responsible for the killing of another North Bergen resident.

Early Morning Call Brings Police To Bergenline Avenue

The investigation began shortly after 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, when the Union City Police Department received a report of an altercation and shots fired near Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street.

Officers arrived at the location and found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen.

Emergency responders transported Pulgarin to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m. that morning.
