Join us for a lively and fun event at the 2Q Fall Open House at Nimbus Arts Center! We’re celebrating Afro-Puerto Rican culture with free trial classes in dance and drumming, focusing on the energetic and vibrant styles of la Bomba and la Plena.
Event Details
On Sunday, September 22, 2024, you and your friends or family are invited to experience the exciting rhythms and moves of Puerto Rico. The event starts with a Dance class from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by a Drum class from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Whether you’re new to these styles or just looking for some fun, these classes are a great way to get involved in the community and learn something new.
Event Location

Event Price and Conditions
This is a free event! However, space is limited—only 25 spots per class. Adults and children aged 6 and up are welcome for the dance class, and 8 and up for the drum class. You can reserve a maximum of 2 tickets per registered email. On September 17, you’ll receive an email to confirm your attendance. Be sure to respond by September 19, or your spot will be given to someone else. If the classes fill up, you can still reach out to Nanette by email to see if there’s space available.
Event Time
Doors open at 1:45 PM, so come early to get settled. The Dance class runs from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by the Drum class from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The entire event will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Remember to dress comfortably for dancing, and if you have a skirt or drum, bring it along to use during the classes. We can’t wait to see you there!
