Chris Dalla Riva, a Hoboken local, has spent years listening to every number-one hit song ever made. Using his skills as both a musician and data analyst, he turned that work into a book called Uncharted Territory: What Numbers Tell Us about the Biggest Hit Songs and Ourselves. It looks at how music, technology, and the music business have changed over the past 65 years — and what those changes say about us.
On December 4, 2025, from 7 to 8 p.m. EST, Chris will talk about his book and his listening journey with fellow Hoboken resident and music journalist Michael Tedder.
The event will be held at Little City Books, 100 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030. You can get there easily by walking, biking, public transport, or driving.
Admission is free. It’s an in-person, one-hour event, a good chance to hear how data and pop music come together in one fascinating story.
