On Thursday, April 17, a full-day event in Jersey City will focus on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. The event is called Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Human Trafficking: A Trilogy of Evil – A Journey of Deliverance and is part of the 2025 Annual Reentry Conference. It will look at the struggles women face after surviving abuse, especially when dealing with the justice system. The talks will focus on why and how women take action after years of being harmed.

Speakers will include survivors, doctors, and advocates. They will talk about the pain victims go through and ways to support them—through care, legal help, and reentry programs. The event also points to a related New York Times opinion piece, “Who Gets to Kill in Self-Defense?” by Rachel Louise Snyder, which highlights real stories of women who fought back after abuse.

The event will take place at Saint Peter’s University, inside the Mac Mahon Student Center at 47 Glenwood Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306.

It is free to attend and open to the public. No registration is needed.

The event runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Arrive early to check in.
