New Year’s Eve at Lokal Eatery & Bar is shaping up to be one of those nights that regulars circle on the calendar early. It’s a straightforward promise: good food, strong drinks, music all night, and a proper countdown without having to leave Jersey City.
The main party delivers three and a half hours of premium open bar, a DJ playing through the night, showgirls, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight. Food keeps coming the entire evening. Passed bites include tuna tartare cones with sesame soy dressing, wild mushroom tartlets with gruyère, truffle arancini with parmesan and basil aioli, bacon-wrapped scallops with a light maple glaze, beef Wellington bites, duck confit crostini with fig jam and goat cheese, filet mignon bruschetta with balsamic glaze, smoked salmon rosettes with dill crème fraîche and caviar, and whipped goat cheese crostini with lavender honey.
Live stations add to the mix and keep things moving: a gourmet flatbread station, a slider station with mini brioche sliders (lamb or vegetarian) topped with caramelized onions, spicy aioli, and pickled vegetables, and a raw bar serving freshly shucked oysters with classic mignonette and cocktail sauce. Dessert comes out as a selection of house-made petit fours, including Saint-Honoré, financiers, mini éclairs, and chocolate lingots.
Everything takes place at Lokal Eatery & Bar, 2 2nd Street in Jersey City. It’s an in-person event focused on food, drinks, and a lively crowd.
Tickets include gratuity and are non-refundable, and guests must be 21 or older. Early bird tickets are $172.62, general admission is $228.37. Assigned tables with bottle service are available for groups: up to 4 guests for $1,025.91, up to 8 for $2,049.84, up to 10 for $2,561.82, and up to 12 for $3,073.79.
The party runs from December 31 at 9:30 p.m. to January 1 at 1:00 a.m. EST, with the open bar starting earlier in the evening. Those who want to stretch the celebration can add on New Year’s Eve brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., or a prix fixe dining event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Brunch is also served on January 1st and 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., making it easy to keep things going—or recover—after a long night.
