On Wednesday, May 28, there’s a free event in Jersey City called Prepping for Period. It’s for girls and their parents to learn what to expect when getting their first period. The event is open to all ages and is hosted by The Flow Initiative and Jersey City Mamas.
It will run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and will last an hour and a half.
The event will be held at The Barrow Mansion, located at 83 Wayne Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
It’s completely free to attend. Everyone who comes will get a free pair of Thinx Period Underwear, and a nurse will be there to help explain everything and answer questions.
The Flow Initiative is a group that works to make period products and information available to everyone. They also help pass laws and teach people about menstrual health.
