On Saturday, March 29, Emmé de la Sol will lead a fun and healing workshop called The Twerkshop: Using Our Hips to Heal. This event is for all ages and is meant to help people feel better by moving their bodies and relaxing their minds.
The workshop will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Doors open at 12:45 PM so people can come early. The event will be held at The Common Earth Company, located at 99 Monticello Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07304.
During the workshop, people will learn how twerking can help with emotional release and improve hip and knee movement. Emmé will also talk about how twerking is seen in Black culture. The event includes talks, meditation, yoga, and dance. Wear something comfortable you can move in. Yoga mats will be there, but you can bring a soft cushion if needed.
The general admission is $30. Everyone is welcome. This event is part of Women’s History Month and honors women of color by focusing on health and well-being.
