What started as a regular Saturday night in a quiet neighborhood quickly turned into chaos. It all started with a police chase in New Jersey and ended with a crash in Rockland County, New York.
The chase, involving several police departments, left one person seriously injured and two suspects on the run.

Quiet Neighborhood Shaken by a High-Speed Chase
Orangetown, a normally calm suburb outside New York City, was jolted awake by screeching tires and a loud crash.
Jason Gaines, who lives in the area, described the noise as “really loud, like an explosion.” He added, “It was really loud. It went right through the intersection very fast, and then within a couple of seconds, slammed into this area over here,”
The chase began earlier that night in Closter, New Jersey when police were called to a home on Kennedy Circle for a reported burglary.
Upon arrival, officers spotted a gray BMW with a Pennsylvania license plate speeding away.
The car almost collided with a police cruiser before heading toward the New York border. Despite efforts to stop the vehicle, the driver continued to evade capture, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
High-Speed Chase Leads to Car Accident in New Jersey, Ends at NY Border
As the car sped into New York, things took a dangerous turn. Near the intersection of Route 340 and Oak Tree Road in Rockland County, the driver lost control.
The car slammed into a tree, flipped over, and trapped the driver inside. The two passengers managed to escape the wreck and ran into nearby properties.
First responders, including firefighters and paramedics, rushed to the scene. They managed to pull the driver, identified as Christian Ochoa Moreno from Queens, out of the wrecked car.
He was seriously injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center. During all this, he was kept under police watch since he was facing some serious charges.
The Search for the Escaped Suspects and What’s Next
While Moreno was being treated, police searched for the other two suspects who had run away.
Officers from multiple nearby towns joined the search, but the suspects are still on the loose. Thus, Closter police are working hard to figure out who these guys are and catch them.
Moreno, now in custody, was taken to Rockland County Jail.
At the moment, he’s waiting to be sent back to New Jersey, where he’ll face several charges, including eluding arrest, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit theft, and possession of burglary tools.
