Investigation Leads to Arrest in Jersey City Homicide Case
On October 19, 2021, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a deceased woman at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 27-year-old Diamond Davila.
The Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be homicidal violence and officially ruled the manner of death as homicide. Davila was pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m.
Authorities, including the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department, promptly launched an investigation.
Their efforts culminated in the arrest of Tyquan Baisden, 28, on October 19, 2021.
Baisden was apprehended without incident on Summerfield Avenue in Asbury Park by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang/Violent Crimes Unit.
Baisden Sentenced to 17 Years for Manslaughter
