Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Friends of the Hoboken Horses I would like to thank

Mayor David Roberts and City Council member Peter Cammarano, acting as

liaison regarding the police horses, and the rest of the City Council

for their efforts in securing a future for the Hoboken Police Mounted

Unit by keeping the horses here in Hoboken. I would also like to express

gratitude to New Jersey Transit for making the horses' new home possible

by allowing the use of a parcel of their land. Finally, Friends of the

Hoboken Horses thanks all of you, the Hoboken community, for your

support for the horses!

For anyone wishing to make a donation towards the building of the barn,

a fund has been established through the Community Foundation of New

Jersey (www.cfnj.org and telephone 973-267-5533) with the stated goal

"Helping support the housing, care and maintenance of Hoboken police

horses and their connection to our community," i.e., first construction

of a barn and eventually an endowment to contribute to the horses'

upkeep and expenses.

All donations are completely tax deductible and may be made online

(select Donate Online then Friends of the Hoboken Horses Fund from the

homepage, www.cfnj.org) or sent to Community Foundation of New Jersey/

Friends of the Hoboken Horses Fund

Community Foundation of New Jersey P.O. Box 338 Knox Hill Road

Morristown, NJ 07963-0338.

Thank you all so much!

Sara Winter, President
