Freeholder and Hoboken mayoral candidate Anthony Romano names first council candidate

HOBOKEN – Freeholder and mayoral candidate Anthony Romano has named Laini Vogel Hammond as the first candidate on his slate for council person at large.
“My goal is to serve the people,” said Hammond in a press release. ”I live here and care just as much for this city as my neighbors. I want to roll up my sleeves and get things done. When I met Anthony Romano, I immediately knew this is the best campaign to be a part of. Anthony is a genuine, authentic person and he wants to help the people. His vision for the city overlaps with some of my concerns – in particular, parking and traffic congestion, and environmental cleanliness – and I know that if we go to City Hall, we will focus on the issues and solve them with real, practical solutions that incorporate the concerns of our residents. Hoboken is still growing and the city needs us to drive it forward.”
A 10 year Hoboken resident, Hammond is a sales leader with Shire, a biotechnology company, where she focuses on life saving therapies for patients with hemophilia.
She serves as a volunteer with the Hemophilia Association of New Jersey (HANJ) and is a “strong advocate for women in leadership.”
She is a member of Shire’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, and the Emerging Leadership Development Program. These programs support young, talented and outstanding women for leadership positions.
Hammond lives in the Hudson Tea building with her husband and they plan to raise a family.
