HOBOKEN – According to reports, Hoboken resident and comedian Artie Lange is in the hospital being treated for an infection that caused him to cancel a appearance on Saturday.
The comedian, known for being a regular on the Howard Stern Show as well as in the HBO series “Crashing,” was schedule to perform on Saturday night with comedian “The Reverend” Bob Levy at Laugh it Up, a comedy club at the Ramada in Fishkill, N.Y.
On Oct. 19 Lange tweeted, “I’m in hospital next to 96 yr old guy who thinks I’m his son. I’m gonna pretend I’m his kid awhile. Bye.”
Lange has diabetes, which has previously put him in the hospital. He also has had a long fight with drug addiction and has been convicted in the past for heroin possession.
Lange is scheduled to perform at the Comedy Cove in Springfield on Oct. 25.
