A funeral mass was offered Oct. 2 at St. John the Baptist Church for Angela R. Monteleone, 83, of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully on Sept. 26. She was co-owner and operator of Monteleone’s Bakery in Jersey City where she worked side-by-side with her husband Carmine for 42 years. Retiring in 2003, she continued to be a presence in the bakery, warmly greeting and speaking to customers daily until her passing. Angela graduated Lincoln High School in Jersey City. She was very active in St. John the Baptist Church and School for many years, as a member of the Rosary Society, bingo committee and school librarian. She was devoted to the wonderful works of Hudson Hospice. Angela loved going to shows at the Arts Center with her husband, and trips to Cape May and Lancaster, PA with her family. She enjoyed NJ lottery scratch-off tickets, TV ‘Lawyer’ shows and the NY Yankees. Angela is survived by her spouse of 62 years, Carmine; her son Michael and daughter-in-law Jenny, grandchildren Joe and Angela, and her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Guido, Stella, Gigi, Billy, Peter, John, Ann, Kaysie, Mark, Juana and their children. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Angelo and Jennie Ricciardi, and her five siblings, Tony, Frances, JoMarie, Danny and Phyllis. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
