According to a press release from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, on Sunday, Dec. 1, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the West New York Police Department responded to the area of 66th Street and Boulevard East on a report of an unconscious man on the ground.
Upon arrival, West New York Police Officers found that a man had been struck by a vehicle that allegedly left the scene of the collision.
The man has been identified as a 56-year-old from New York City, and he was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
The initial investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the West New York Police Department determined that the man was a pedestrian and that he was struck while crossing 66th Street at the intersection of Boulevard East.
No arrests have been made at this time.
