Jersey City will kick off the holiday season at the City Hall Annex Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. with the City’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The ceremony rotates throughout the city every year so that more people can participate and spread the positive holiday spirit.
There is an array of free, family-friendly events happening citywide this month.
On Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. there will be a tree lighting at Audubon Park.
On Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. there will be a tree lighting at Columbia Park.
On Dec. 6 there will be a tree lighting at McGinley Square at 3:30. At 6:30 p.m.there will be a tree lighting at Leonard Gordon Park.
On Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m. there will be a a holiday lighting ceremony at the Newark Ave. Pedestrian Plaza.
On Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. there will be a toy drive at city hall. Jersey City residents must preregister to be part of the event.
On Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. the Mayor’s Holiday Concert will take place at the Landmark Loews Theater. On Dec. 23 at 4 p.m. there will be a menorah lighting and Hanukkah Celebration at city hall at 280 Grove St.
