Hoboken police officers arrested a teen and two out-of-town men for their alleged involvement in a street fight which left one man unconscious Oct. 11, according to a press release from the department.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, at approximately 11:52 p.m. Hoboken police were dispatched to the intersection of Third and Washington streets on a report of a street fight.
Officer Enrico Gnassi approached an unconscious male who was being carried by three people.
Shortly thereafter, Police Officer Marc Aurigemma and Police Officer Marco Grossmann arrived.
They placed the unconscious male in the backseat of their radio car and transported him to Hoboken University Medical Center, where the man was discharged a few hours later.
Police Officer Ryan Houghton and Police Officer Bret Globke also responded to the scene.
They saw a 17-year-old juvenile male punch another man.
The juvenile was immediately placed into police custody. During a search, he was found to have a small grinder containing suspected marijuana allegedly in his possession.
The on-scene investigation led to the arrest of 19-year-old Mark Lewis of Englewood for allegedly assaulting the same man.
The investigation led to the arrest of a third man for the assault on the unconscious male who was transported to HUMC.
The third man was identified as 26-year-old Walid Hamed of Brooklyn.
The 17-year-old was charged with Juvenile Delinquency Simple Assault, Possession Of Marijuana, and Possession Drug Paraphernalia. He was released to his parent.
Mark Lewis was charged with Aggravated Assault. He was released on a summons with a court date.
Walid Hamed was charged with Endangering an Injured Victim, Aggravated Assault, and Hindering.
Hamed’s charges were placed on a summons; he was released with a court date.
