Bayonne will offer free holiday parking for four hours

Mayor and council announce special parking measures for municipal lots

Special parking is coming to Bayonne for the holiday season.

Four hours of free parking

Mayor James Davis and the Ccty council have announced a special holiday season parking program starting on Monday, Dec. 7.

The Bayonne municipal parking lots will be free for non-commercial vehicles for four hours. The time the vehicle is parked will start the four hours of free parking.

The free parking period will be monitored by the Bayonne Parking Utility’s virtual parking system.

The four-hour free parking program is intended to promote shopping and doing business in Bayonne during the holiday season. Mayor Davis has been leading the city’s efforts to promote shopping locallly in support of Bayonne businesses. The special holiday parking is just one aspect of the continuous calls to help businesses stay afloat.

Signs posted in the parking lots will indicate that the four-hour free parking program is in effect.

The special parking program for non-commercial vehicles will run through Sunday, Jan. 3. Normal parking enforcement for non-commercial vehicles will resume in the parking lots the next day on Jan. 4.

The four-hour free parking program does not apply to commercial vehicles.
