Boil water order issued for Jersey City and Hoboken

A boil water order is in effect for Jersey City and Hoboken.

A boil water order has been issued for Jersey City and Hoboken following the aftermath of the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued the order after Ida caused damage to the aqueduct in Cedar Grove Township. Customers have been asked to boil their water before using it for drinking or cooking purposes.

SUEZ Water emergency crews are working to fix the aqueduct; they expect to complete repairs by this evening.

Jersey City and Hoboken are currently working to distribute bottled water to residents.
