I am writing to you to tell you that I am endorsing Councilwoman-At-Large Viola Richardsonfor re-election. In my current role at the Hudson County Office on Aging, I have had the occasion to work with Councilwoman Richardson countless times on behalf of senior citizens in our community. Viola is compassionate and seniors are high on Councilwoman Richardson’spriority list. She has championed many causes for seniors including meal plan expansion and quality mixed income housing throughout the city.
Not only that, Councilwoman-At-Large Viola Richardson has stood up to fight for all the people of Jersey City by protesting the closure of Greenville Hospital, Lafayette Library and the Prenatal Unit at the Jersey City Medical Center. She stands firmly against the Spectra Gas Pipeline.
Viola Richardson provides a voice for the voiceless. She fought hard with the home owners of McGinley Square to prevent the threat of eminent domain and won. She stood alongside those in our city who rely on public transportation, to maintain bus service for the Heights and Greenville. Viola worked to restore various city parks and to expand recreational and cultural programs for our children. Most significantly, Viola is a tireless proponent of public safety, and her 21 years of experience as a police officer lends this cause a knowledgeable leader. Her advocacy has resulted in the addition of safety enhancements, like cameras and emergency phones, at transit hubs throughout Jersey City.
As a former member of the Jersey City Municipal Council, representing the residents of Ward A, I proudly endorse Councilwoman-At-Large Viola Richardson for re-election. Viola is a strong and consistent voice for all the people of Jersey City. Viola is tireless and I am confident that she will remain vigilant about voicing the concerns of Jersey City residents so that each individual is represented with integrity and compassion.
On May 14th join me to re-elect a tireless advocate for Jersey City, Councilwoman Viola Richardson. Vote 2B!
